Air Force Reserves

The Royal Australian Air Force employs about 2,800 Air Force Reservists in a wide range of roles. You might be part of an Air Force Reserve squadron while undertaking training or be employed in a Permanent Air Force unit once qualified. Air Force Reservists can be employed during military operations or civilian emergencies, fill permanent Air Force positions under certain circumstances, or complete project work.

The Air Force Reserve is integrated into the entirety of the Air Force Organisation.  There are four main elements however from the general reserve perspective – three higher organisations and 12 city squadrons that contain the reserve training element.
