Service Profile: Bryen Abrahams
Bryen Abrahams (ACA 19339) served as a pilot in the Royal Australian Air Force from 1951 to 1958, attaining the rank of Flying Officer.
Training initially at Point Cook, Archerfield and Uranquinty, Bryen went on to serve with 1, 2, 6(B), 10 and 11 Squadrons, seeing active service in Malaya during the Malayan Emergency.
His service flying was in Tiger Moths, Austers, Wirraways, Lincolns (30 & 31), Mosquitos, DC-3s and Neptunes.
In addition to bomber experience, his flying included maritime reconnaissance and search and rescue. He also flew with the Australian Research and Development Unit (ARDU) Detachment B in ARDU's experimental rain-making program.
