The following profiles and stories were donated to the RAAF Museum by the Gold Coast Branch of the Air Crew Association.

Service Profile: Aub Taylor

Aubrey Taylor, US Air Medal, served as aircrew in the Royal Australian Air Force during World War 2 from 1942 to 1946, training as a navigator/wireless operator (Nav (W)).

He began his flying training on Avro Ansons at Initial Training School (ITS) Clontarf, Queensland, and earned his brevet at Nav (W) School, Ballarat, Victoria.

On posting to the UK under the Empire Air Training Scheme (EATS), Aub trained at Operational Training Unit (OTU) High Ercall before being posted to No. 464 Squadron, where he flew 52 operational sorties in Mosquito Mark VIs.

In recognition of his meritorious service, he was awarded the United States Air Medal.

Aub was discharged on demobilisation, holding the rank of Flying Officer.
