Hawker Siddeley HS748 A10-601
Registered G-AVZD to Hawker Siddeley Aviation Ltd in December 1967, the museum's aircraft first flew in February 1968. Used as a certification aircraft for Rolls-Royce Dart 8 engines for tropical trials at Asmara during April 1968, development trials on the aircraft ended in June of that year.
Following these trials, the aircraft was modified to standard RAAF fit and was handed over to the RAAF at Woodford in August 1968. Ferried via Athens, New Delhi, Bangkok, Singapore, Denpasar, Darwin and Alice Springs, A10-601 arrived at the RAAF School of Air Navigation, East Sale, in September 1968. After reorganisation of aircraft operations, A10-601 was operated by No 32 Squadron from 1 July 1989.
Withdrawn from service in January 2004, A10-601 was selected for preservation with the RAAF Museum at Point Cook and was ferried from East Sale on 20 January of that year.
