No 73 Squadron
Equipped with Ansons, No 73 Squadron formed at Cootamundra, New South Wales in May 1942. The Squadron conducted anti submarine patrols and convoy escort missions off Australia's East Coast - operating from bases at Nowra, Camden and Coffs Harbour.
By January 1944, 13 of the Unit's Ansons had their gun turrets replaced with Air-to-Surface Radar. Operations by the squadron were routine and uneventful and by September 1944 No 73 Squadron had disbanded.
