No 22 (City of Sydney) Squadron
Role
The Royal Australian Air Force's No 22 (City of Sydney) Squadron provides competent reserve personnel to augment ADF capability during contingencies. No 22 Squadron is part of Air Force Training Group.

- RSG - Reserve Staff Group
- RAAFSR - Specialist Reserve
- RAAFGR - General Reserve.
Musterings/ Specialisations
There are approximately 60 different musterings available within the
Air Force Reserve. There are also Reserve-specific musterings such as
Motor Transport Driver, OPSO and General Hand, to name a few. Through
this No 22 Squadron provides personnel to support all RAAF Base
Richmond units, Headquarters Air Command, Defence Establishment Orchard Hills, Maritime Headquarters and Headquarters Australian Theatre.

History
No 22 Squadron was officially formed on 20 April 1936 at RAAF Base
Richmond. Through its active wartime role, No 22 Squadron disbanded on 15 August 1946, then reformed on 19 April 1948 in Bankstown, then moved to Schofields on 16 November 1948 and then finally moved back to RAAF Base Richmond in March 1948.
Currently the squadron has a strength of 280 personnel, of these 170
are Active Reserve (RAAFAR), 30 are Aircrew Reserve (OARG), 63 are
Specialist Reserve (RAAFSR) and 22 are Reserve Staff Group (RSG).
