No 84 Wing
The Royal Australian Air Force's No 84 Wing Headquarters is at RAAF
Base Richmond, NSW, and comprises No 33 Squadron (Amberley), No 34
Squadron (Defence Establishment Fairbairn, ACT), No 285 Squadron (Richmond) and Air Movements
Training and Development Unit (Richmond).
No 34 Squadron operates the Boeing 737-BBJ and CL-604 Challenger aircraft providing special purpose transport to the Australian Government and ADF.
The prime responsibility of Air Movements Training and Development
Unit is the design, development, evaluation, standardisation and
compliance of all Air Lift Group air movements and load delivery
procedures, systems and related training.
No 285 Squadron delivers aircrew and technical airman aircraft
systems ground training; aircrew flying training utilising full flight
simulators; and supports the training conducted by remote Air Lift
Group units of Nos 84 and 86 Wings.
