RAAF Base Glenbrook is located in the foothills of the NSW Blue Mountains, north-west of Sydney. It is home to Air Command, whose mission is to raise, train and sustain Air Force's air and space power to meet Government objectives.
The Officers Mess (an area where military personnel socialise and eat) at the base is actually the old Lapstone Hotel, built in the 1930's. It has been restored and the interior re-modelled, though only slightly due to its historic status, while the outside remains unaltered.
