In 1937, John Heaton-Armstrong, the newly appointed Chester Herald (an officer of arms at the College of Arms in London) was commissioned to prepare a design for a Royal Australian Air Force badge. It was accepted in 1939.

Our red kangaroo ‘in motion' has been displayed with pride, not only on aircraft, but on various promotional material since 1982.
Logo
Our logo is a combination of the Air Force Roundel as the 'O', within the customised logo and the text of Air Force in Air Force blue colour.
Ensign
The Royal Australian Air Force Ensign was approved in its current form by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1981
