Flight Lieutenant Lucas Grote
Flight Lieutenant Lucas Grote was raised on the mid-north coast of New South Wales, wanting to become a pilot from an early age.
Lucas found his passion for the military when he enlisted the Royal Australian Army Reserve in 2007 as an Infantryman. After his time in the Army, Lucas was employed in construction in Tamworth and Sydney before joining the Royal Australian Air Force in early 2018.
Lucas graduated No.257 Advanced Pilots Course where he trained on the CT-4B in Tamworth and the PC-21 with No. 130 Squadron, Republic of Singapore Air Force, and No. 2 Flight Training School at RAAF Base Pearce.
On attaining his wings, Lucas was posted to No.37 Squadron at RAAF Base Richmond in Sydney where he flew the C-130J Hercules from 2021 on missions around the world loving every minute.
Lucas has subsequently moved to Central Flying School and this is his first season as Roulette 7 and enjoys anything to do with the outdoors and spending time with his family.
