The RAAF Museum is a 25-minute drive south-west from Melbourne along the Princes Freeway. Take the Point Cook Road exit and follow the tourist signs to the museum. The RAAF Museum is approximately 400 metres beyond the entrance to the RAAF Base.

Free parking is available across the road from the RAAF Museum. Bus parking is available on the southern side of the museum.

Opening hours

Tuesday to Friday: 10am–3pm
Weekends and Public Holidays: 10am–5pm

The Museum is closed on Mondays, Good Friday, and Christmas Day.


Admission to the RAAF Museum is FREE, however, donations are gratefully accepted. Note that photo identification is required for all visitors over the age of 16 to gain entry to the Base.


The Museum provides guided tours for groups (such as clubs and schools) from Tuesday to Friday. These give the visitor a unique insight into Australian aviation history, the Air Force and RAAF Base Point Cook. Guided tours are conducted by RAAF Museum trained volunteer host officers.

Please note that tours of the Museum's Reserve Collection and storage areas are not available.

Pets on Base

With the exception of assistance dogs, visitors to the RAAF Museum are not permitted to bring pets on to the Base. Any person bringing a pet will not be permitted entry to the Base.


Toilets are available at the museum.

Wheelchair access is available to all parts of the RAAF Museum excluding the upper deck of the Restoration Hangar. Limited access to the lower deck of this area can be arranged for people with special needs.

The Museum's 'MCS Cafe' is open from 10am to 2pm, each Tuesday through to Sunday (inclusive), offering a selection of hot and cold snacks, cold and hot beverages including barista coffee and tea.
