First aircraft arrival of the F-35A Joint Strike Fighter

Our F-35A Joint Strike Fighters are coming home!

The first two of a total seventy-two F-35A Joint Strike Fighters purchased by the Australian Government for the Royal Australian Air Force are coming home.

Minister for Defence, the Hon Christopher Pyne MP, will officially welcome Australia’s first two F-35A Joint Strike Fighter aircraft at RAAF Base Williamtown, New South Wales on Monday 10 December 2018.

The Fighter aircraft will arrive in Australia following a cross-Pacific ferry from Luke Air Force Base Arizona.

They will be operated by the Air Force’s Number 3 Squadron, part of the Air Combat Group.
