Air Force to conduct flypasts to mark the 50th Anniversary of the end of Australia's role in the Vietnam War

Royal Australian Air Force aircraft from RAAF Base Edinburgh will conduct flypasts in South Australia on Friday 18 August 2023 to mark the 50th anniversary of the end of Australia’s role in the Vietnam War.

A PC-21 aircraft will conduct a low-level flypast over Torrens Parade Ground in Adelaide and an AP-3C(EW) will conduct a flypast over Diamond Park in Murray Bridge in support of Vietnam Veterans’ Day services, commemorating the 50th anniversary and honouring those who served and either did not return or returned injured.

The Royal Australian Air Force is proud to honour those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice in the Vietnam War.

The Air Force saw distinguished service in the Vietnam War particularly with No. 9 Squadron operating Iroquois helicopters, No. 2 Squadron operating Canberra Bombers and No. 35 Squadron operating Caribou aircraft and many Air Force personnel on the ground.

Details of the flying displays are outlined below.
