Two C-17A Globemaster III aircraft from the Royal Australian Air Force and United States Air Force will conduct low-level flying over Papua New Guinea (PNG) as part of Exercise Global Dexterity from 4-5 May 2023.
The Royal Australian Air Force and United States Air Force conduct combined training to exercise air support in our region, including Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief.
PNG airspace provides a unique and beneficial training environment to simulate high density altitude operations, as well as exposure to weather and terrain not available in Australia.
The Royal Australian Air Force and United States Air Force are grateful for opportunities to practice in this environment, and will take care to ensure disturbance to the local populations is kept to a minimum.
The Royal Australian Air Force appreciates the support of the Government of PNG and the local PNG community during these training activities. The PNG Government was briefed on this activity and diplomatic clearances have been granted.
Flying is subject to change due to variables such as air traffic control requirements, weather and other aviation considerations.
