Air Force is proud to support the Battle of Britain commemorative services in Hobart hosted by the Royal Australian Air Force Association – Tasmania Division. As part of the Cenotaph and Wreath laying service on Sunday 17 September, flypasts over the Hobart Cenotaph will be conducted by the AP-3C (EW) Orion and the Air Force aerobatic team, the Roulettes. Flying displays will also be conducted by the Roulettes on both Saturday 16 September and Sunday 17 September.
This year marks 83 years since the Battle of Britain campaign which took place during World War 2 between 10 July 1940 and 31 October 1940. A total of 35 Australians flew combat operations during the campaign, 10 of whom were killed in action.
Flying is subject to variables including air traffic control requirements, weather and operational availability. As such, flypasts and displays may be subject to cancellation at short notice.
