Australian Defence Force participation in Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix

The Australian Defence Force is proud to support this year’s Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix with aerial and ground displays by Air Force, Army, Navy, Defence Force Recruiting and the Australian Defence Force Academy and University of New South Wales Academy Racing Team.
Off the track entertainment will include aerial displays by the Air Force Roulettes, a No. 32 Squadron KA350 King Air formation flight and a No. 37 Squadron C-130J Hercules flypast.

The Australian Defence Force exhibit, located in the Innovation and Technology Hub will host a range of additional interactive displays across the four day event including:
  • ADF Drone Racing Team conducting races using mini-drones.
  • Army vehicle display with a M1 Abrams Tank, ASLAV Recon Vehicle and a M113 Armoured Personnel Carrier.
  • Army’s ‘Armygeddon’, a six-wheeled hotrod Land Rover and a blown 7.0-litre 1978 Ford LTD known as ‘Project Digger’.
  • Australian Defence Force Academy and University of New South Wales Racing Team with an engineering display and a racing simulator.
  • Navy Community Engagement Stand with a Rigid-Hulled Inflatable Boat.
  • Performances by the Navy Rock Band.
