Aircraft return to Salt Ash Air Weapons Range for Air-to-Ground training activities

The Royal Australian Air Force advises residents living in East Medowie, Salt Ash and Lemon Tree Passage that the Salt Ash Air Weapons Range will be used for training activities from July to September 2025, on weekdays between 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

  • Number 76 Squadron Hawk Lead-in Fighter aircraft will conduct training between Monday 28 July and Friday 22 August 2025.

  • PC-21 Pilatus aircraft will conduct training between Tuesday 23 to Friday 26 September 2025.
     
  • There is currently no training scheduled for F-35A Lightning II aircraft during this time.

Air Force has a responsibility to ensure our aviators are ready and able to deploy at short notice, this includes essential air-to-ground training practiced at the Salt Ash Air Weapons Range. 

Every effort is made to minimise inconvenience to residents during training. Air Force appreciates the ongoing support of the local community during these essential training deployments.
