Up to three F/A-18F Super Hornet aircraft from No. 1 Squadron, based at Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Amberley near Ipswich, will conduct aircrew familiarisation and divert training flights in and around Tamworth Regional Airport.
Familiarisation flights and aircraft diversions are an important part of training for aircrew.
