Increased flying operations at RAAF Base Townsville for Exercise Crimson Dawn 25-1

There will be an increase in flying operations at RAAF Base Townsville over the period 16 – 26 June 2025 as Royal Australian Air Force personnel and F/A-18F Super Hornet aircraft from No. 1 Squadron conduct Exercise Crimson Dawn 25-1.

Exercise Crimson Dawn 25-1 is the culmination of a six-month Operational Conversion course, which aims to graduate the newest generation of F/A-18F Super Hornet Fast Jet Pilots and Weapon System Officers. Aircrew will conduct training sorties from RAAF Base
Townsville between 16 – 26 June 2025 during the exercise.

Aircraft will operate on weekdays during daylight flying hours for the duration of the exercise. Air Force appreciates the ongoing support of the local community during these essential training deployments.
