Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Pilatus PC-21 aircraft from No. 2 Flying Training School will be conducting flying training operations from RAAF Base Learmonth throughout June as part of Exercise Capricorn Sunset.
The detachment of up to six PC-21 aircraft, and approximately 40 ADF and support personnel, will be conducting a higher than normal tempo of operations from RAAF Base Learmonth during the period 9 – 20 June 2025.
Operating from airfields such as RAAF Base Learmonth is essential for No. 2 Flying Training School to be able to fulfil its mission of training pilots to the highest possible standard to enable their future employment on operational Australian Defence Force (ADF) aircraft.
Flying is subject to change due to variables such as air traffic control requirements, weather and other aviation considerations.
Safety, noise management and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of Defence flying activities. Participating aircraft will operate with a view to minimising the impact on the local communities.
Further information about the Pilatus PC-21 aircraft can be found at Aviation training | Royal Australian Air Force.
A Qualified Flying Instructor will be available for interview upon request.
