The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Wagga will exercise its historic Freedom of Entry to the City of Wagga Wagga to mark the 85th anniversary of RAAF Station Forest Hill - now RAAF Base Wagga, “Yalbiligi Ngurang”.
The Freedom of Entry will be exercised with a ceremonial parade through the Wagga Wagga Central Business District featuring 500 personnel marching with swords drawn, bayonets fixed, drums beating, band playing and colours flying and a military flypast by aircraft from No. 100 Squadron and Central Flying School.
All parade and flying activities are conducted within strict safety and operational guidelines.
In the event of wet or severe weather, a determination will be made regarding whether the parade and/or reception will proceed.
Flying activities are subject to change, including short notice cancellation, due to variables such as air traffic control requirements, weather and operational availability.
Noise reduction and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of military flying.
