The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) will showcase a number of different types of aircraft with flypasts and displays at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) Open Day this weekend.
Across the day there will be flypasts from a F-35A Lightning II from No. 2 Operational Conversion Unit based at RAAF Williamtown, Newcastle, NSW and a C-27J Spartan light transport aircraft from No. 35 Squadron based at RAAF Base Amberley, QLD.
The Air Force Roulettes aerobatic team will perform their impressive aerobatic display overhead with up to six Pilatus PC-21 training aircraft and the RAAF hot air balloon will be on the ground.
Media note
The flying activity schedule is subject to change, including short notice cancellation, due to variables such as air traffic control, weather and other aviation considerations.
Safety, noise management and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of Defence flying activities. Participating aircraft will operate with a view to minimising the impact on the local communities.
