The Royal Australian Air Force is proud to be supporting the Battle of Britain commemorative service in Hobart, hosted by the Royal Australian Air Force Association – Tasmania Division. 

This year marks 85 years since the Battle of Britain campaign, which took place during World War II between 10 July 1940 and 31 October 1940. More than 30 Australians flew combat operations during the campaign, 10 of whom were killed in air-to-air combat. 

A C-17A Globemaster III is scheduled to conduct flypasts over the Sunday commemorative service at 11.00 am and again at 11.30 am.

All flying is subject to change, including short notice cancellation, due to variables such as air traffic control, weather and operational requirements.

Safety, noise management and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of Defence flying activities. Participating squadrons will operate with a view to minimising the impact on local communities.
