Launceston Airport and Hobart Airport, Tasmania, will host pilots from the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) No.1 Flying Training School (1FTS) from Friday 27 March, for instructor pilot flying training.
1FTS will fly up to 14 aircraft from RAAF Base East Sale, Victoria to Launceston and Hobart, conducting multi-ship formation training for qualified flying instructors.
The training will include multiple 2-ship and 4-ship training sorties, taking place on Friday and Sunday.
Flying is subject to variables, including air traffic control requirements, weather, and operational availability. As such, training may be cancelled at short notice.
Noise reduction and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of military flying. Information on aircraft noise and current flying activities is available at www.defence.gov.au/aircraftnoise or by calling 1300 DEFENCE (1300 333 362).
