Operation Details Tab

A C-17A Globemaster III will conduct a flypast of the Brisbane CBD in support of the Australia Air Force Cadet Freedom of Entry Parade to the City of Brisbane.
The flypast will occur at 10:10 am on Saturday 19 May. Residents of the city and surrounding areas may notice the large military aircraft flying close to the CBD at this time. `
People can view the parade from Adelaide Street in the City. The Parade will be forming up at King George’s Square.
The Globemaster is operated by No. 36 Squadron and is one of eight aircraft in service based at RAAF Amberley near Ipswich.
Close coordination will occur with Brisbane Air Traffic Control prior to the flypast.
The Air Force appreciates the support it receives from the residents of the Brisbane and South East Queensland regions and is proud to support this significant event.
Please note the following distinction that Australian Air Force Cadets (AAFC), along with Australian Navy Cadets and Australian Army Cadets are members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) Cadets. ADF Cadets are participants in the youth development program conducted by the three services in cooperation with the community, but they are not members of the ADF. Officer Cadets (Air Force) and Staff Cadets (Army) are trainee officers undertaking instruction at the Australian Defence Force Academy or the Air Force Officers' Training School or Royal Military College Duntroon. The terms 'ADF Cadets', 'Officer Cadets' and 'Staff Cadets' are not interchangeable. Trainee naval officers are not cadets; they are commissioned officers with the rank of Midshipman.
This event may be cancelled at short notice due to operational requirements, weather or air traffic.
