C-17A Globemaster flypast for Canberra Skyfire 2019

Amongst the Australian Defence Force (ADF) activities planned for Canberra Skyfire 2019 will be a flypast over Lake Burley Griffin by an Air Force C-17A Globemaster from No. 36 Squadron at around 6.55pm on Saturday 16 March. 

The C-17A will fly over the south side from Fairbairn following Lake Burley Griffin from east to west. It will then make a turn over the Zoo and Cotter Dam to pass over the north side including the Australian National Museum and Russell back out to the airport.

All flying is subject to change due to weather, operational requirements or other aviation considerations.

The full program of ADF events at Skyfire is:

6.05pm and 6.35pm - Australian Federation Guard drill team display at Rond Terrace

6.12pm - Royal Australian Navy MRH-90 Taipan helicopter winching display on Lake Burley Griffin

6.55pm - Air Force C-17A Globemaster flypast over Lake Burley Griffin

8.29pm - Australian Federation Guard Guns display at Gallipoli Reach Countdown
