The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) will deploy C-27J Spartan aircraft and personnel from RAAF Base Amberley near Brisbane QLD, to participate in Exercise Ready Spartan Prove in Townsville.

DATE:        10 - 18 September 2020
VENUE:     RAAF Base Townsville, Queensland

No. 35 and No. 383 SQN's will operate to austere airfields to practice operational integration. This will include local flying from RAAF Base Townsville, the establishment of air base infrastructure, a deployable health facility, and security and communications systems.

Additional military personnel, including airfield engineers, aircrew, logistics and health professionals, will be present in the region. Low-level flying will occur between 13 - 17 September.

Noise reduction and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of the exercise, and Air Force appreciates the ongoing support of the local and Indigenous communities.

This activity will be conducted in alignment with COVID-19 safe practices. All personnel participating in Exercise Ready Spartan Prove are QLD-based and are not COVID-19 symptomatic. The health of Defence members and the Townsville community is Defence’s highest priority.
