Up to 3 EA-18G Growler aircraft will conduct diversion training into RAAF Base Edinburgh on Thursday 10 May 2018. The aircraft will be operating in the vicinity of the base between the hours of approximately 1.30pm - 5pm. The Growlers will be carrying out instrument landing approach training and familiarisation operations. An Instrument Landing System (ILS) approach assists pilots to land at night or in poor weather conditions. The ability to land at alternate airfields is an essential part of pilot training on the Growler aircraft. Residents should note that the date and time for this activity are subject to variables including weather and operational availability, and may change. Noise reduction and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of military activities, and Air Force appreciates the ongoing support of the community during these training activities.
