Royal Australian Air Force EA-18G Growler aircraft from Number 6 Squadron, based at RAAF Base Amberley, will conduct instrument approach training at Sunshine Coast Airport on Wednesday 03 February.
DATE: Wednesday 03 February 2021
TIME: Between 2pm – 4pm
VENUE: Sunshine Coast Airport
Up to two aircraft will conduct a single instrument approach into Sunshine Coast Airport between 2pm and 4pm, before departing to return to RAAF Base Amberley.
Instrument approach training is an essential part of pilot training on fast-jet aircraft as it assists pilots to land at different airfields in all weather conditions.
Noise reduction and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of military activity, and Air Force appreciates the ongoing support of the Queensland community during these training activities.
The timing of this activity is subject to variables including weather and operational availability. We request that local residents do not call Sunshine Coast Airport directly for updated timings.
