Exercise Talisman Sabre - heightened military flying operations - Townsville

RAAF Base Townsville will conduct heightened military flying operations associated with Exercise Talisman Sabre 21.
DATES:                              Exercise Talisman Sabre will be conducted between 14 - 31 July 2021 with heightened military flying between 12 July to 03 August 2021.
VENUE:                              RAAF Base Townsville
FLYING SCHEDULE:        Daily from 17 -  22 July, 0800 - 1800 local
                                           Daily from 23 - 26 July, 1300 - 2200 local
                                           Daily from 27 - 31 July, 0800 - 1700 local
AIRCRAFT:                       Aircraft, including F/A-18A/B Hornets, Hawk 127, PC-21, P-8A Poseidon and KA350 King Air, as well as United States Marine Corps MV-22 Osprey and KC-130J Super Hercules, will operate from RAAF Base Townsville as part of the exercise.
Safety, noise management and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of Defence flying activities. Participating squadrons will operate with a view to minimising the impact on local communities.
The health and safety of all personnel participating in this exercise is paramount. All Australian Defence Force personnel are required to adhere to state and territory government travel restrictions and health advice. A range of COVID-19 risk mitigation measures will also be in place.
