F-35A Lightning II aircraft diversion training programmed for RAAF Base Richmond

Royal Australian Air Force F-35A Lightning II pilots from No. 2 Operational Conversion Unit are programmed to conduct diversion training into RAAF Base Richmond.

TIME:                      9:30am - 11:30am
VENUE:                  RAAF Base Richmond, New South Wales
Please note that this is a training activity, not a scheduled flypast or display, and will proceed at the unit’s discretion, when conditions are best suited to meeting their capability objectives.
Programmed flying is subject to change, including short notice cancellation, due to variables such as air traffic control requirements, weather, and other aviation considerations.
This training is currently programmed to involve up to two aircraft conducting circuits into RAAF Base Richmond, before departing to return to RAAF Base Williamtown.
Diversion training is an essential part of training on fast jet aircraft to enable pilots to land at different airfields.
Noise reduction and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of military flying.

This flying activity is part of regular training. Flights and timings are changeable to best meet training objectives, they are not a scheduled flypast.
