F/A-18 Hornet aircraft to conduct night flying training at RAAF Base Williamtown

Up to 9 F/A-18 Hornet aircraft from Number 2 Operational Conversion Unit will be conducting essential night flying training from 29 January - 01 February 2018 and 05 February - 07 February 2018, until approximately 11.00 pm each night during these two periods. 

This type of night flying training forms a vital part of Number 2 Operational Conversion Unit pilot training program, getting aircrew used to flying with night vision equipment and instruments.

Noise reduction and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of military flying.

Air Force appreciates the support it receives from the Williamtown residents during this activity.
