F/A-18A/B Hornet flypast for Newcastle Jets RAAF Round

The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) will conduct a flypast of McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday, 16 March in support of the Newcastle Jets RAAF Round.

DATE: Saturday, 16 March, 2019

TIME: 5:30pm – 5:40pm

VENUE: Newcastle, NSW – McDonald Jones Stadium

The flypast is scheduled from approximately 5:30pm to 5:40pm to coincide with kick-off for the Newcastle Jets vs Central Coast Mariners game.

A single F/A-18A/B Hornet aircraft from No. 77 Squadron, based at RAAF Base Williamtown, will carry out the display.

The aircraft will arrive from the north of the stadium and conduct a flypast before repositioning to conduct a second pass over the stadium from the South.

The aircraft will fly at speeds up to 830km/h and not lower than 100 metres.

All flying is subject to change due to weather, operational requirements and other aviation considerations.
