Details

Up to two Hawk Lead-In-Fighter aircraft from Number 76 Squadron will conduct diversion training into RAAF Base Richmond on Thursday 11 July 2019.

The aircraft will be conducting an instrument approach, ‘touch and go’ landing at 3.45pm and 4.30pm and then departing to the north to return to RAAF Base Williamtown.

Instrument Landing System (ILS) approach training is an essential part of pilot training on fast-jet aircraft as it assists pilots to land at different airfields in all weather conditions.

Noise reduction and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of military activity, and Air Force appreciates the ongoing support of the Hawkesbury community during these training activities.
