Hawk 127 Lead-In-Fighter aircraft from No. 76 Squadron, RAAF Base Williamtown, will conduct diversion training into RAAF Base Richmond.
DATE: Wednesday, 20 January 2021
TIME: 9am – 4pm
VENUE: RAAF Base Richmond, NSW
Up to five aircraft will conduct instrument approach, ‘touch and go’ landings between 9am and 4pm and then depart to the north to return to RAAF Base Williamtown.
Diversion and Instrument Landing System (ILS) approach training is an essential part of pilot training on fast-jet aircraft as it assists pilots to land at different airfields in all weather conditions.
Flight timings within the window indicated will be determined on the day to best meet training outcomes.
Noise reduction and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of military activity, and Air Force appreciates the ongoing support of the Hawkesbury community during these training activities.
