Military Training Exercise - Central Queensland

Operation Details Tab

Details
The Australian Defence Force (ADF) is conducting a training exercise over land, sea and air during February 2022.

Military personnel will be operating in Rockhampton, Shoalwater Bay Training Area and Yeppoon, Queensland, for the activity.

The public should not be alarmed if they see low-flying aircraft, or increased movement of military personnel and vehicles within the area.

Training exercises such as this helps ensure the ADF remains in a ready state of preparedness in the protection of Australia and its national interests.

The ADF is unable to provide media access or further information, including specific timings, regarding this training in order to protect operational tactics, techniques and procedures.

Air Force appreciates the support of the community during these crucial training activities and is committed to ensuring every effort is made to minimise impact to local residents.

Noise reduction and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of military flying.

Information on aircraft noise and current flying activities is available at http://www.defence.gov.au/aircraftnoise, or by calling 1300 DEFENCE (1300 333 362)
