The Royal Australian Air Force will conduct a flypast of the Townsville Strand on 18 July 2021. The Australian Defence Force would like to thank the people of Townsville for accommodating Australian and International Forces participating in Exercise Talisman Sabre 21 (TS21). The flypast also coincides with the Centenary of Air Force, which is being marked this year.
The flypast will track north west to south east along the shoreline just north of Strand, at a height no lower than 250 feet.
DATE: Sunday, 18 July 2021
VENUE: The Townsville Strand
AIRCRAFT: Up to two F/A-18A/B Hornets at 11:15am
Up to two PC-21s at 11:45am
All flying is subject to change, including short notice cancellation, due to variables such as air traffic control, weather and other aviation considerations.
Safety, noise management and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of Defence flying activities, and participating aircraft will operate with a view to minimising the impact on the local communities.
The health and safety of all personnel participating in this exercise is paramount. Australian Defence Force personnel are required to adhere to state and territory travel restrictions and health advice with COVID-19 risk mitigation measures in place for Talisman Sabre 21.
