The same aircraft will conduct a flypast over Soldiers Park at 11:30am in support of another Vietnam Veterans’ Day commemoration.
Also known as Long Tan Day, Vietnam Veterans’ Day falls on 18 August each year.
This year marks the 53 rd anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan, where 108 brave young men from D Company 6RAR resisted an attack of 1,500-2,500 North Vietnamese and Viet Cong troops. It would become one of the most extraordinary chapters in Australia’s military history.
All flying is subject to change due to weather and operational requirements.
