Hunter residents are advised to look to the sky around RAAF Base Williamtown and north of Tea Gardens, as Air Force fighter aircraft - including F/A-18A Hornets, Hawk Lead-In Fighter and our new F-35A Joint Strike Fighters - conduct practice displays over the base precinct in preparation for the Australian International Airshow Avalon 2019.

Monday 18 February

1pm to 2pm; 4.30pm to 6pm – F/A-18A Hornet

Tuesday 19 February

9.30am to 10.30am – F-35A Joint Strike Fighter

1pm to 2pm - F/A-18A Hornet

4.30pm to 6pm – F/A-18A Hornet

Overhead RAAF Base Williamtown

Tuesday 19 February

2pm to 3pm – F-35A Joint Strike Fighter

Wednesday 20 February

12noon to 1pm – Hawk

1pm to 2pm - F/A-18A Hornet/F-35A Joint Strike Fighter

4.30pm to 5.30pm – F/A-18A Hornet formation

Weekend departures

Sunday 24 February

9am to 11.30am – Hawk and F-35A aircraft will depart for Avalon

 

The Australian Defence Force is part of the Australian International Airshow Avalon 2019. The event is held biannually at Avalon Airport, near Geelong in Victoria.

The Australian International Airshow Aerospace and Defence Expo 2019 is a week-long trade exhibition showcasing aerospace industry and military aviation (26 February to 1 March), followed by the Avalon 2019 public airshow on the weekend of 1-3 March.

Display schedule can change at short notice due to weather or operational considerations.
