Coomalie Creek

After being prepared for service in November 1942 by No 54 Operational Base Unit, Coomalie Creek became home to No 31 Squadron, operating Bristol Beaufighters, and No 1 Photo Reconnaissance Unit, later re-named No 87 Squadron, by the end of 1942. These two units flew many missions over enemy territory until the end of World War II.
