Curtin

Historical photo of the base

The first major military airfield built in Australia since World War II, RAAF Base Curtin was constructed as a bare base that could be used for exercises or when required for national defence. Work at the site commenced in 1983, with the official opening of the base in 1988. The project cost approximately $64 million at the time.
