Flight Lieutenant Ben Hepworth

Flight Lieutenant Ben Hepworth grew up in Hobart, Tasmania and joined the Air Force in 2009, having begun flying at the age of 16.

Flight Lieutenant Hepworth graduated No. 222 Pilots Course in 2011, and was posted to No. 10 Squadron in Adelaide where he flew AP-3C Orion aircraft. During this time, he was involved in various exercises and regional operations, including the search for MH370.

Flight Lieutenant Hepworth completed Flying Instructors Course in 2016, and went on to instruct on the CT4/B and Pilatus PC-21 at the Australian Defence Force Basic Flying Training School in Tamworth, NSW and No.1 Flying Training School at RAAF Base East Sale.

In 2020, Flight Lieutenant Hepworth posted to the Central Flying School, and joined the Roulettes in 2021.

Flight Lieutenant Hepworth has over 3,800 hours of military flying time. This is his sixth season with the Roulettes and third as Roulette 6.

While not at work, Flight Lieutenant Hepworth enjoys spending time with his wife, son and three dogs as well as all things motorsport.
