One Royal Australian Air Force F-35A Lightning II from No. 3 Squadron will conduct a low-level flypast over Fremantle Cemetery West Chapel Perth as a mark of respect for the funeral of SGT (Retd) Felix Sainsbury, the last surviving No. 3 Squadron World War II Veteran.
Two RAAF Base Williamtown NSW based No. 3 Squadron F-35A Lightning II on deployment to RAAF Base Tindal will transit to RAAF Base Pearce, near Bullsbrook WA via a stopover for refuelling at RAAF Base Curtin, near Derby in Western Australia on 3 May 2023. The F-35A aircraft will return to RAAF Base Tindal on 4 May 2023.
A single F-35A aircraft will conduct the flypast to honour SGT Sainsbury.
This is the first time F-35A aircraft have transited to RAAF Base Pearce.
All low level flying activities are conducted within strict safety and operational guidelines.
Flying is subject to change, including short notice cancellation, due to variables such as air traffic control requirements, weather, and operational availability.
