A detachment from Air Force’s No. 2 Flying Training School (2FTS), RAAF Base Pearce, will deploy to RAAF Base Learmonth to conduct flying training operations for EXERCISE CAPRICORN SUNSET from 13 to 26 May. Up to seven Pilatus PC-21 aircraft, and approximately 50 Australian Defence Force (ADF) and support personnel, will be conducting a higher than normal tempo of operations from RAAF Base Learmonth during this period.
Residents should note that flying is subject to change, including short notice cancellation due to variables such as air traffic control requirements, weather, and other aviation considerations.
Noise reduction and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of military flying. Aircrew will aim to operate in a manner that minimises noise and disruption to the community when flying near residential areas.
Air Force appreciates the ongoing support from the Exmouth community.
Members of the community seeking further information are invited to call 1800 033 200 or refer to the Flying Activity page.
