The P-8A Poseidon is based on the Boeing B737-800, modified to enable the latest maritime surveillance and attack capabilities.

The RAAF Museum is located about 400 metres beyond the entrance to RAAF Base Point Cook. The RAAF Museum is open on Thursdays and Sundays from 10 am to 3 pm. Booking is essential.

Defence’s Air Domain will receive approximately $65 billion to develop air capabilities. The Space Domain will receive approximately $7 billion over the next decade to transition the ADF from a consumer to a sovereign contributor in space.

RAAF Base Amberley is located in Queensland, 40 kms south-west of Brisbane on the outskirts of Ipswich. It is Air Force's largest base and employs over 5000 people.

The regional Heritage Centre displays are designed to professionally display aircraft and exhibits that highlight the history of the Air Force, and celebrate links between the base and the local community.

RAAF Base Curtin is located on the north coast of Western Australia, southeast of Derby and 170 kilometres east of Broome. It was established in the 1950s to provide support for land, air and sea operations aimed at securing Australia’s northern approaches.

RAAF Base Darwin is one of the Air Force's main forward mounting bases. It is located 6.5 km north-east of the City of Darwin, and shares the runway with Darwin International Airport.

A significant package of maintenance works to the RAAF Base Darwin / Darwin International Airport runway, which will support expected military and civilian air traffic into the Northern Territory to at least 2040, is underway.

RAAF Base East Sale is located 220km South East of Melbourne, in Victoria's Gippsland region, and supports a capacity of approximately 700 personnel.

Located 25 kms north of Adelaide, RAAF Base Edinburgh is primarily home to the Air Warfare Centre, and No 92 Wing's AP-3C Orion and P-8A Poseidon aircraft which conduct surveillance operations throughout Australia's airspace.

Located in the foothills of the NSW Blue Mountains, north-west of Sydney, RAAF Base Glenbrook is home to Air Command, whose mission is to raise, train and sustain Air Force's air and space power to meet Government objectives.

RAAF Base Learmonth is located on the North West Cape peninsula of Western Australia, approximately 30 kilometres south of Exmouth. It is one of the Air Force's three 'bare bases' that can be used for exercises or operational requirements.

RAAF Base Pearce is the main Air Force base in Western Australia and is located in Bullsbrook, 35 kilometres north of Perth. It is one of the busiest RAAF bases in the country in terms of total aircraft movements.

RAAF Base Point Cook is the birthplace of the Australian Flying Corps and the Royal Australian Air Force. The base covers 341 ha and is located approximately 26 km from Melbourne CBD and 8 km south of RAAF Williams.

RAAF Base Richmond is located in New South Wales, 50 kms north-west of Sydney. It is best known for being home to the C-130J Hercules medium transport aircraft.

RAAF Base Scherger is located on the western side of Cape York Peninsula in Queensland. It was the final northern bare base to be developed for the Air Force, and completes a series of strategic outposts reaching from Learmonth in Western Australia to the Cape York Peninsula.

RAAF Base Tindal is Air Force's youngest operational base and is one of Australia's most important Defence sites.
