RAAF Base Curtin is located on the north coast of Western Australia, southeast of Derby and 170 kilometres east of Broome. It was established in the 1950s to provide support for land, air and sea operations aimed at securing Australia’s northern approaches.

RAAF Base Darwin is one of the Air Force's main forward mounting bases. It is located 6.5 km north-east of the City of Darwin, and shares the runway with Darwin International Airport.

RAAF Base Learmonth is located on the North West Cape peninsula of Western Australia, approximately 30 kilometres south of Exmouth. It is one of the Air Force's three 'bare bases' that can be used for exercises or operational requirements.

RAAF Base Pearce is the main Air Force base in Western Australia and is located in Bullsbrook, 35 kilometres north of Perth. It is one of the busiest RAAF bases in the country in terms of total aircraft movements.

RAAF Base Point Cook is the birthplace of the Australian Flying Corps and the Royal Australian Air Force. The base covers 341 ha and is located approximately 26 km from Melbourne CBD and 8 km south of RAAF Williams.

RAAF Base Richmond is located in New South Wales, 50 kms north-west of Sydney. It is best known for being home to the C-130J Hercules medium transport aircraft.

RAAF Base Scherger is located on the western side of Cape York Peninsula in Queensland. It was the final northern bare base to be developed for the Air Force, and completes a series of strategic outposts reaching from Learmonth in Western Australia to the Cape York Peninsula.
